The language of flowers is known as floriography, and it was used to convey messages long before our modern means of communication were invented. Each month has a birth flower, and that flower (or flowers) will hold a special meaning to people born in that month. In past centuries, floriography was the way to tell someone how you felt without saying a word. In our modern society, we have many forms of communication to express sentiments. It’s not frowned upon in polite society to express feelings of love, interest, or even disapproval as it was in past societies.
